The useful little gossip 👀
Here we tell you everything you've always wanted to know about our products (and a little more). No technical jargon, just good facts. Because yes, gossip can be useful too. 😉✨

🍦 Is Goddess Vanilla vanilla natural or artificial?
100% natural, my dear. No weird chemicals or imitations. We use real pods, artisanal processes, and zero artificial flavors.
📦 Do you ship to all of Mexico?
Of course! We deliver vanilla to the sweetest corner of the country.
🥄 What is the difference between vanilla extract and vanilla paste?
Extract = liquid, ideal for mixes, drinks, baked desserts.
Paste = thicker, with seeds from the pod. Perfect for recipes where you want to showcase the vanilla almost like jam (and have everyone say "wow!").
⏳ How long does vanilla last?
Years. Literally. As long as you store it in a cool, dark place with care, your extract or paste will last a long time. Our extract has a shelf life of 5 years, and our paste has a shelf life of 3 years.
🤔 Why is it more expensive than supermarket ones?
Because it's real, handcrafted, made with premium Mexican beans, and no shortcuts. Cheap is expensive... and tasteless.
✨ Can I use it in savory recipes?
Of course! Our vanilla isn't just for cakes. Try it in dressings, sauces, meats, and even vinaigrettes. Surprise and delight.
🐝 Did you know that vanilla grows on an orchid?
Yes, a flower! Vanilla is the fruit of a tropical orchid. Beautiful, whimsical, and delicate. It only blooms one day a year and needs to be hand-pollinated (because local bees don't travel by plane).
⏳ Why is natural vanilla so special?
Because it can't be industrialized like other flavors. Each pod takes months to grow, is hand-pollinated, and then slowly cured. It's a slow and tasty process, like all good things in life.
💰 And why is natural vanilla so expensive?
Think about it: hand-pollinated, artisanal curing, perfect climate, and lots and lots of time. It's not bottled flavoring, it's aromatic gold. That's why it's worth every drop.
🇲🇽 Is Mexican vanilla the best?
Obviously. Mexico is the origin of vanilla, and although Madagascar is famous today as the world's largest producer of vanilla, Mexican vanilla has a spicier, warmer, and deeper profile. Madagascar vanilla has creamy and floral tones.
🌱 What is a "cured" vanilla pod?
It's a pod that has undergone a natural drying, sweating, and ripening process. It's not just about drying the pod, but about developing all those hundreds of aromatic compounds that make real vanilla so magical.
🧪 What does “double extract” or “pure vanilla” mean?
-
Pure extract: Made with only natural pods, alcohol and water.
-
Double or 2 X extract (Diosa Vainilla): higher concentration of vanilla (for home chefs and- or pro recipes).
No artificial flavors or synthetic vanillin here, just real flavor.
🧓🏼 Who used vanilla first?
The Totonacs were the OGs of vanilla. They considered it sacred and used it in rituals, perfumes, and food. Later, the Aztecs mixed it with cacao (thanks for inventing vanilla chocolate 🙌).

🧙♀️ Vanilla myths that it's time to uncover
Because not everything they say on the street (or on TikTok) is true... here we clear up the gossip with a little spice and laughter.
❌ “Vanilla is only for desserts”
Fake as a cheap flavoring! Vanilla is amazing in sauces, meats, salads, vinaigrettes, and even cocktails. If you haven't tried it in something savory, you're missing out on the revolution.
❌ “All vanillas taste the same”
Eso es como decir que todos los vinos saben igual. La vainilla mexicana, de Madagascar y tahitiana tienen sabores, aromas y personalidades distintas. Nuestra favorita: la mexicana, obvio. 💅
❌ “Transparent vanilla is purer”
NO. If you see light or transparent vanilla… it's probably artificial flavoring. Natural vanilla is a dark amber, deep, and delicious. Like a well-kept secret.
❌ “Vanilla is cheap”
La buena, natural y artesanal vale lo que cuesta. Es uno de los ingredientes más caros del mundo porque requiere tiempo, cuidado y tradición. No se compara con los saborizantes “wannabe”.
❌ "Vanilla is an aphrodisiac"
Well... it depends on who prepares it. 😏 Although this myth dates back to ancient times, what we do know is that its aroma activates parts of the brain associated with pleasure and nostalgia. So, if it ends in romance... we're not responsible.
❌ Vanilla only grows in Mexico
Mexico is its birthplace, yes, but today it's also cultivated in Madagascar, Tahiti, Uganda, Indonesia, and other tropical regions. Even so, Mexican vanilla remains a treasure thanks to its spicy profile and ancient history.
❌ “If it smells good, it’s already good vanilla”
Not everything that smells beautiful is natural. Many artificial extracts use synthetic vanillin, which fools the nose but not the palate. The natural aroma of vanilla is deeper, more complex, and changes over time. In other words, it's like a wine.
❌ “Liquid vanilla is better than paste”
It depends on the use, The paste isn't "better" or "worse"; it's simply more intense and retains the seeds. It's ideal for recipes where you want the vanilla flavor and veins to stand out. Vanilla elegance.
❌ “If it says 'vanilla' on the label, it's already natural.”
FALSE! Many brands use the word "vanilla" to sell artificial flavors. Check that it says "pure vanilla extract" and that natural vanilla is listed among the ingredients. Or better yet... use Vanilla Goddess and forget about the drama!
❌ “Vanilla makes you fat”
Pure vanilla has no sugar, no fat, and no significant calories. So if your cake has two sticks of butter... don't blame the vanilla bean 😅
